3 months!

Today you are 3 months old!  It is amazing how much you have grown in the last month.  You are learning new things every day and beginning to interact with the world around you.  You play with your toys, and you seem to want everything in your mouth.  The only problem is that you have trouble getting the toy into your mouth.  Your hand seems to get in the way.

Somehow, you missed the memo that babies like to nap.  Some days you are awake all day.  It is hard to be mad.  Whenever I get upset, you flash me that smile, and all is forgiven.

Crib!?!

Tyler slept in his crib last night.  It seems the transition was much worse for me than it was for him.  In fact, he barely seemed to notice the change in venue.  We started our nighttime routine of bath, book, and feeding like normal.  Then instead of reaching over into the small pack and play to lay him down for the night, I walked him into his room and laid him in his crib.

This was the last I heard from him until about 1:00 am.  He was laying in his crib loudly sucking his hand, but not crying.  It was a bit early for him to be hungry, so I held him for a few minutes until he fell back to sleep.  I placed him back into his crib.  Next thing I know, it is 6:15 am!  So not only did he sleep in his own room, he pretty much slept through the night!

My little boy is growing up much quicker than I would like.  I said to Aron that it felt unfair that he was all alone in his room while I had Aron and Puck in the room with me.  We did set up a bed for Puck next to Tyler's crib in case Puck feels like keeping him company.

We'll see how night 2 in the crib goes tonight.  Now we just need to master daytime naps...

Milestone- Thumb Sucking

Dear Tyler,

You've been trying to get this thumb sucking thing down for a while now.  You've been stuffing your whole fist into your mouth.  You then figured out that you want your thumb, but you just couldn't quite figure out how to dislodge it from your fist.  Yesterday, it looks like you finally got it!  You are able to comfort yourself with your thumb!  Now if you could just figure out what to do with the other 4 fingers...

Also, today is our first attempt at taking a nap in the crib.  Dad is up there with you right now try to get you to sleep.  So far it isn't going too well, but we are hopeful!

Love,
Mom

Dear Tyler,

You laughed for the first time today!  Dad and I were so excited, and dad was even able to capture it on video!

Laughter!

We look forward to many other smiles and giggles from you.

Generations

Dear Tyler,

You have so many people that love you.  You were fortunate to be born to two loving parents, four awesome grandparents, and six amazing great grandparents.  Until yesterday, you had met all of these people, except one.  Your great grandpa Lewis.  We took a ride to the hospital in White Plains to see him.  It was a special moment to be able to get 4 generations of Pinkussohn men together.  It was a way to help link your future to your history.

I hope you get to enjoy many years with your great grandparents.  Your smile helps to keep them all going.

Love,
Mom

2 months

Dear Tyler,

Happy 2 months!  You are getting so big!  At your 2 month appointment you were 11 lbs 13 oz and 21 3/4".  You are right in the 50th percentile for weight and 10-15 percentile for height.  You got 3 shots at your last doctor visit, but you handled them like a champ.  No fever, and you were feeling like yourself again by the end of the day.

Right now your favorite thing to do is put your hands in your mouth.  First it was just the left hand, but now it is both.  You seem to be trying to find a way to get both in there at the same time!

You seem like you are almost ready to roll over from your back to your front.  You can get about half way.

You are still sleeping in our room, but you seem ready for your crib any day now.  Especially since last night you slept from 9 until 5:15!  Thanks for letting mommy get some rest!

Happy 2 months baby!  We all love you so much!

Love,
Mom
